Have you tried VitaCoco Coconut Water? Hydration is so important, try something new.

I recently attended an amazing fundraiser for Lupus Awareness called “Christine’s Un- Birthday Party for Lupus”.  I received a gift basket with some VitaCoco Coconut Water in it.  I have heard a lot of things about coconut water but thus far had not joined the craze.  Coconut water is a gluten free, super hydrating, cholesterol free drink that is packed with nutrients and electrolytes.  I have heard that it is better than Gatorade but was always skeptical of that claim.  I have suffered from leg cramps in my calves for years and I woke up the other night with a pretty bad case of them.  I thought of the coconut water and decided to give it a try.  This time the flavor was Peach/Mango.

Vita Coco Coconut WaterFirst off, let me say that it is an acquired taste.  It kind of has a strong coconut aftertaste that I am not crazy about.  That being said, it absolutely works.  I drank it and within 15 minutes my cramps began to subside.  I felt much better afterwards and upon doing a little research the following morning I realized that it is a product that is rich in potassium which everyone knows is a great way to combat muscle cramping.  This is a terrific product and I am already thinking of creative ways to use it in my everyday life.  It is definitely best served over ice so my thinking is to use it in smoothies and such.  I love the fact that they are an ecofriendly company and use ecofriendly packaging made from wood fibers which is a sustainable resource.   I am definitely going to continue to use VitaCoco and recommend it whole heartedly.

    vita coco adds sugar.

i prefer the zico or harmless brands which do not add sugar

That is inaccurate. Gluten is found in wheat but not only wheat. It is also found in barley, rye and triticale.

Anything not made from wheat is gluten free…………..

  • I would prefer fresh coconut water straight
from a coconut, but this one looks good too.  Coconut water is
an excellent way to stay hydrated when exercising too!

  • I drink the plain stuff every day, and am in fact drinking it right now. I limit my consumption of it because of the carbs, but I think it tastes better than other brands. I still get muscle cramps, but coconut water definitely reduces the muscle soreness that follows the spasms.

  • coconut water is awesome. im a college basketball player and coconut water is amazing. i have fibromyalgia and it definitely helps me with recovery after workouts! id give it a try if your open to it. its a little milky in my opinion but it helps if you get a flavored type of coconut water to help you deal with the consistency.

coconut water is great for those of us who have autonomic dysfunction with our conditions. It is like gatorade without the sugar.
