Christine Miserandino was on “The Revolution” Wednesday 3-28 with Toni Braxton talking about Lupus

I was so proud to share the stage with Dr. Jen, and Toni Braxton to talk about living with lupus. It was an amazing experience! The Original airdate was Wednesday 3/28/2012 I have embedded the video below for those of you who missed it, or for our readers who are out of the country and to not get the ABC network.

In the last half of the program which talks about chronic pain Christine was on air with Dr. Jennifer Ashton, and Toni Braxton talking about Living well with Lupus and being an empowered patient. The entire staff and crew of the show was very nice and easy to work with. The producers really care about their job and the subjects that they are covering. As you can tell in the video below, I was very excited to meet Toni, but also of course to be on national television. I have always admired Toni Braxton’s strength, honesty and grace so meeting her in person was a wonderful experience. I was shocked and honored when she took her orange loop off her own wrist and gave it to me. It is something that I now cherish. She was very friendly off camera too, yes she is as nice as she seems “in real life”. I loved doing the show and would do it again in a heart beat. Spreading Lupus Awareness, as well as fibromyalgia (which I have too) is so important to me. But the most important message is being an empowered patient who is active in their own healthcare experience. We can listen to doctors or scientists explain something, but when one patient helps another and gives the patient perspective it is a magical thing… an instant connection and understanding.

  • Good post. As mentioned in another post great step for awareness. The picture is really awesome. I also had similar symptoms for some time, but it was diagnosed as something else. I salute the people out there coping up and living with Lupus.
