Thanks for posting this!
I sort of understood what happens, but not fully. This got me to understand completely and it looks very painful!

Yeowch!!!!
I didn't go through all of them, but those are interesting!! I tested myself on a few of them and I'd say generally I'm okay, although I do have one or two flexible areas and the skin on the top of my hands is a bit stretchy (but probably no more than what's considered normal).
*Whew*

That's probably the best, and biggest collection of EDS pics I've seen so far. And I agree: could someone make it sticky, please?

Great collection of pictures. I can identify with a lot of them, either in myself or other family members. I found myself thinking, "That's an ankle subluxation? I do that all of the time!"

"....I though that was normal"
"oh i do that all the time"
yep I think until we are dxed we all think 'that's normal'...
and the 'ultimate EDS pics' site would indeed be one where there are comparison pics i.e this is normal, this is mild hypermobility/skin hyperstrechism, this is 'extreme'.

I don't know about the arm pronation/supination pictures. I know my arms look like that. The rest - there are various degrees and sorts of EDS shown, some of which are identified specifically as to the type of EDS, most not.

you're of course right dee, even after dx....
cause nobody bloommin checks us from head to toe and tells us what all is odd...I've only recently found out that both my shoulders sublux, when I started getting numbness/icy cold/all white probs in arm and hand...
I really hate the 'we deal with probs as and when they arise' instead of let's see what's wrong and see whether we can try and avoid probs in future...
and nope! these things are not normal.
pic1 I cant do at all...despite being a bonafide EDSer
pic 2- yep, know that one well...

when i was dxed i just gave my geneticist a show of all my tricks that i had in my bag from showing friends and my mom

I can do a number of these, but not when it comes to the more extreme things like bending my pinky totally backwards. Ouch! When I was younger I could easily cross my ankles behind my neck, and even now I can still get my heels to touch. I could never ever ice skate because my ankles would roll every time. No fun at all when you live in an area where it's winter at least 6 months out of the year and there are outdoor rinks in every neighborhood

The pinky thing seems to provoke a visceral reaction in many people. For me, it's a fun, easy trick. I can't do any other trick easily - do I win an award for least-talented here? hairy persons are pictured, so being male isn't as much of an excuse as I thought - and some of the photos gross me out. If I had permission, I'd take that pinky picture and make it my avatar
