Triple Whammy!

check the http://www.thyroid.about.com website to find out symptoms of graves and see if it may have an effect on the other test results.

Both my Mom and Brother have graves disease. Both had their thyroid's radioactively killed. Do you have the bulging eye's?

Just to let you know...know that their thyroids are gone and on Synthroid they are doing well.
Good luck.

I really understand your frustration. I hope you get a diagnosis. My endo reckons if you have one auto-immune disease you are more likely to get others :(

On the upside, the treament for Graves reduced my irritable bowel symptoms. Hope it does the same for your Crohns. Msg me if you want any Graves advice.

I also did Graves disease. Mine got about as bad as it could have before they finally figured it out. I was only 15 at the time.

I fought off and on with it for years. At one point it started doing all sorts of strange things and they just removed it because radiation was not an option with how up and down my thyroid kept going.

I take Synthroid now and as far as that goes I'm okay. Just make sure if they put you on med or remove it and put you on synthroid eventually make sure it doesnt interfere with other meds.

I had a really awful problem with one of my stomach meds that prevented absorption of the synthroid and stupid us it tooks weeks to figure it out lol

Hi....I was diagnosed with Graves disease in my early 20's, about 30+ years ago. I had the radioactive iodine treatment. Before I got Graves, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Shortly after completing treatment for the Graves, I developed fibromyalgia. All are considered to be autoimmune diseases. I take Levoxyl now. My fatigue level is through the roof, due to many things, but I believe alot of it could be my clinical hypothyroid status. I have been considering asking my doc about Armour thyroid, as it has been recommended to me by a friend. I have never felt really good in the past 30 years.

My Graves' is in remission now. I went on a not-so-fun rollercoaster ride with it due almost entirely to very bad doctors. The best advice I can give you is to educate yourself. I underwent a nuclear test that permanently damaged my eyes as well as spent a year very hypOthyroid thanks to idiotic endocrinologists. Both could have been avoided if I'd done my homework in advance about the test and about how to read my own lab results.

This will seem totally overwhelming at first but you will learn quickly (as it isn't really as complicated as it seems, or as your doctors may want you to think!). I found this place really helpful for support and education:

Best of luck to you! Graves' can be very manageable so even though the blow of having an autoimmune illness is rough, know that it doesn't have to interfere with your life too much.
