Hey Spoonies!

A few of you have been on butyoudontlooksick.com from the beginning, and many of you have joined us on our journey, tomorrow Monday 26th November marks the 3rd anniversary of our message boards!

So we thought we would celebrate that! And we would love for you all to come help us celebrate! Since it is our 3 year anniversary of the message boards- we thought we would give you 3 ways to celebrate. Do 1 - Do them all- either way have a ball! :)

1) We thought it would be fitting for everyone who can, to take a pic of spoons, you with spoons , wearing "spoon gear from our cafepress store .. or a bouquet of spoons, spoons in a jar, or a vase or anything!! Whatever your heart desires, then post them in our anniversary thread on our message boards! Not only will this be fun for the group to share- but Christine will post some of these pictures online on the main site.

2) We are hoping you can join us for a chat in our chat room. We were thinking because it's 3 years, maybe we could have 3 chats ? (Plus this makes it easier for those of us in different time zones/ or work hours etc.) One at 5pm eastern usa time, for those who can make that chat, or for those overseas in Europe, that would be around 10pm GMT. Another chat at around 9pm Eastern time, and then another at 11 pm, Eastern. Heck-- who knows-- this might even help us beat our "most online users" record. Why not use this opportunity to "invite a friend" to butyoudontlooksick.com. Send out the link, spread the word, and help introduce someone new to this great place on a day that you know it will be extra busy and extra friendly!

3) Last but not least, We are asking everyone the simple and easy request to "spoon the world". (hee hee :) What this means is that you post a picture of a spoon, or our logo, etc anywhere you can with a LINK to butyoudontlooksick.com, the spoon theory, or the message boards. Use Facebook, livejournal, twitter, blogger, myspace, other message boards, put in your away messages, your emails, your email address book! Spoon your blog! If you are a writer, take this chance to write about how your first found us, or when you forst read the spoon theory, how you live your life with spoons. Write spoon poetry! Make Spoon Art! Go Nuts! Go Spoonies! Spread some Love and Spoons! Let's see if you spread some spoonie love - if it will come back to you. Last time I did this I loved seeing the random places I would start to see spoons start popping up! It really made my day! If you posted anything spoonie related or a link to us etc--- let us know!! :)

It is way overdue. I just cleaned off my desk, and I finally decided to throw away my butyoudontlooksick.com mousepad. It lived a good life and kept me company on my desk for 2 years now. I really loved it. It was the first thing that anyone ever bought from the butyoudontlooksick.com store. (I know because I bought it. ) I liked that when I was at my desk, I had a little butyoudontlooksick.com reminder.

I know it sounds silly, but it made me sad. After 2 years of typing, eating at my desk, etc. It was very dirty and has seen better days.

So I just noticed that some of my friends on Facebookstarting signing their emails, wallposts, and notes "Love and Spoons," with their signature. I thought it was just 1 or 2 people-- but then as I started noticing it was more. I soon looked at the message boards and people their started signing their posts with that beautiful closing sentament too. What a nice concept. Wishing someone love and some "extra" spoons for the day. Imagine if we all wished each other love and spoons...what a better world it would be!!

So now when you are not sure what to say... wish someone you know some "love and spoons"!

Do you Like Word Seaches and Crossword Puzzles? I just found this website that makes it so super easy to make those word games for any topic, party or theme. It literally takes maybe 3 minutes. You fill in the blanks with the words you want to include, check off a few style question and difficulty of puzzle, and voila! A computer program makes it up for you and it is ready to print and save. Voila! A perfect, custom addition to any party or event. Granted I just used this to give the kids coming to a family party something to do, but I can see this having a bigger use for school teachers with diffiuclt/ borning subjects. For "awareness" campaigns.. like a lupus word search. For support groups etc. It is a fun easy way to break the ice, start conversations/ mingling and bring up certain words or topics.

FYI- I just realized that after reading this new personal blog --- and after not seeing me on the message boards much, writing less article posts or online in general-- you might be putting 2 and 2 together that I have been having a hard time lately. I am doing my best to rest and take meds, and do whatever I need to to not be in pain, not be exhausted all while still taking care of this angel of a baby. It is hard, and at times it can be depresseing.

Please know my heart is this site. and when I do feel better- I do what I can for it. I am just a bit overwhelemed with it right now. But I made myself a deal that I need to and want to get back to writing and working on this site etc. I love writing. and expressing myself for those who can't or might not be able to. I think it is good for me in like a million different ways...creativly- emotionally etc.

So for 1 hour a day-- egg timer in hand.. I am going to try to be around more often.

Somethings you will notice-- like the new blog, or new articles, or postings... but other things you might not notice as much like the patient support I provide via email, or answering 100 emails a day, or even just keeping the site runnning. but please know i will be here in one form or another.

or at least i am trying to be.
