Product Review: bitsybowsandtinsyties.com no slip hair bows for little girls

Bitsy Bows & Tinsy Ties is a family owned business. As usual, I love to shop at and help promote work at home moms. Tiffani is the owner, and she makes every product with great care. I love handmade items and I wish I could make bows that match every one of my little girl's outfits, but with arthritis in my hands, it would be close to
impossible for me to make tiny bows. If you are like me and are limited because of your disability, consider shopping with her. You can still get quality handmade items, even if you can not make them yourself!

Product Review: Momworks Inc. Attachable Photo Albums

These attachable photo books are the perfect gift for anyone with a child. I love the bright ribbon that attaches to the baby's highchair or car seat. I know first hand that baby's like to throw things, or drop them. So this added feature was proof that this product was invented by a mom!

Product Review: Medical Alert Jewelry from StickyJ.com

I love all jewelry, from bracelets, to earrings, necklaces and more. It is fun to express myself with colorful style and add a little something extra to any outfit. Unfortunately, most medical alert jewelry is not fun or fashionable. Usually it is something that I have to talk myself into wearing. I recently found stickyj.com and saw their wide selection of medical bracelets, medical id charms, medical necklaces, medical id watches, kids medical id bracelets and medical pendants, which all come in a wide variety of styles and metal types. I was amazed at the variety of medical alert fashion jewelry items that were both cute and functional.

Product Review: Personal Artwork From PhotoFiddle.com

I have taken thousands of pictures of my daughter during her first few months. Some pictures end up in nice silver or gold frames, others may go in a novelty “I love my Daddy” frame, and some end up stacked in a photo album, or in a folder on my computer.

Oy Ge-Felt! Seder Plate

Passover is a Jewish holiday which celebrates the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt as slaves into freedom. It is a very family-centered holiday as it is about a retelling of the story of the Exodus year after year and passing traditions and oral history down to the younger generations. The Passover Seder is a way to celebrate this freedom;

Out of Hibernation- Thoughts on the Weather

I have been really enjoying this new summer weather. I love the warmth and sunshine- such a welcome relief from the dreary, gray days of winter. Although this seasonal metamorphosis happens every year, I can't help but be amazed at the changes.

Hot Flashes! Night Sweats! Hot Summer Nights!! They have to be the bane of everyone's sleeping time! It's hard enough to sleep when you are a spoonie, without having to factor in that you can't sleep because you overheat too!! It's a nightmare! One I wish I could sleep through, but I can't.

Product Review: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000

The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 is a very different style of computer keyboard. It is designed so your hands slope downwards toward the keys, not upwards as with a standard keyboard. The main keyboard is split into two, in order to encourage the use of both hands and a better typing style. The front of the keyboard is raised with an integrated wrist rest, so that you rest your wrists on the front of the keyboard and your hands naturally flop down onto the keys.

Top 10 Study Tips and Suggestions For Those Living With A Chronic Illness

Coming from a lover of all learning and a future teacher, school and all of the studying it encompasses means everything to me. A true perfectionist, I wanted to prove that my chronic illnesses would not keep me from succeeding in something that was so intrinsically personal to me: education. I knew before the age of four that I would be a teacher when I grew up. When I was diagnosed at fourteen, after suffering for nearly five undiagnosed years, I was told with the severity of my health issues, I likely would not graduate high school. Tears seared my cheeks hearing those brutal words. Here I was sitting on a cold table in a sterile white room with someone who didn’t even know me, telling me that I wouldn’t live out my lifelong dreams. I wanted to be valedictorian. Dropping out, not continuing on, however you look at it, were not visions in my head, nor would those doctor’s words taint my drive and dreams.

Want to get away? Read a book!

If you’re at the end of your day (or your rope) and would like to escape the world, try a book!

You can travel to the other side of the world and look through scenic booklets of foreign attractions, read about other country’s cultures, or read about foreign explorations – all from your armchair.

You can read about wizards, fairies, dragons, and magic – and pretend you’re there, too! Hunt for treasures, seek a crown, and fight evil – without leaving home…

Book Review- Diseases and Disorders- Lupus

I work part time in a public library and recently a new book came across my desk that I was thrilled to see. It is a children's book on Lupus geared for ages 10 and up. The book is user friendly, easy to read, but far from simplistic and broken down into five chapters. The chapters are delve into 5 basic questions- What is Lupus?, What causes Lupus?, How is Lupus Treated?, How to Live with Lupus? and What is the Future for Lupus? There are also photographs, drawings and charts, which simplify this sometimes confusing and overwhelming subject.

Book Review: The Truth About Back Pain: A Revolutionary, Individualized Approach to Diagnosing and Healing Back

This book is an interesting read for anyone who suffers from back pain. It is written by two successful chiropractors. I would say that if you do not believe in the benefits of chiropractic medicine, this book may not be for you. I felt the authors wrote this book with a "voice" that seemed truly honest, and friendly. It seemed to me they really wanted to help people feel better. I never got the impression that they were "selling" their ideas or products, which unfortunately happens some times in health books. The book is written from the belief that back pain comes from three distinct causes: structural physical damage; nutritional/diet; and emotional-stress and personal issues that may affect health. I agree with this philosophy as I have seen in my own life how everything, including exercise, stress and work, effect how I feel.

Product Review: Baby Safety Gates from micahco.com

Well our little one is beginning to crawl, and before I know it she will be running all over the house! I started to look for baby safety gates not only for her safety, but for my energy. I do not want her to fall down stairs etc, but I also know that I do not have the energy to run all over the house following her. The idea of keeping her safe in one or two rooms at a time, seems like a good one for both of us.

Book Review: The Brain That Changes Itself: Stories of Personal Triumph from the Frontiers of Brain Science

This book's author was featured on PBS's television program "The Brain Fitness Program." This book mixes scientific research with anecdotal stories. This is not really a self-help type book, but it does give the reader a good overview of brain science. It will not give the reader examples of "how to" change, but that change is possible, with examples of such.

Product Review: baby shoes and more from brodiegirl.com

I was looking for something a little bit more fun then the typical baby shoes that look like white sneakers or white sandals. We have never been a bland, boring, or vanilla white family and we were looking for soft soled shoes since our baby is not walking yet. We love to have fun with bold colors and fun designs, so I was so happy when I went to brodiegirl.com. We picked out the cutest slip-on shoes. They have tons of designs to choose from so we chose the pink shoes with little skull and crossbones on them, and black shoes with rockin' guitars. These shoes are sold for about $24 USD.
