Cookbook Review: the no-salt, lowest sodium international cookbook

The title of this new cookbook might not immediately grab you with it's lowercase lettered title and the concept of low salt dishes. This is a cookbook that you buy with good intentions of getting healthy and cooking nutritionally better dishes. Since I wanted to write a review of this book I needed to take the next step and actually use it! What a pleasant and tasty surprise!

I would not consider myself the best of cooks and I don't cook that often. I was very happy that the book is very easy to use and is worded for the novice or "home cooker". The book is written by one of the owners of megaheart.com and his wife. I think that because it is written from the perspective of a regular person wanting to get healthy, you almost get the feel of a friend sharing recipes with you. You know the recipes have been
actually eaten and are delicious as well as heart healthy.

Some notable things about this book that I liked are:

- There is an informational page about diabetes management
- Since I am a self diagnosed "bread junkie" (as is most of the U.S.), I did like the information on no salt bread making
- The nutritional value charts in the back of the book are easy to maneuver through and are very helpful, if not essential to following the recipes.

When anyone is given dietary restrictions they might think that their crave driven life is over, but in this book you have so many low or no salt options, that you will not feel deprived and will hopefully have an easier time following your diet.

If you are trying a low or no salt diet for health reasons, if you were prescribed by a doctor to try low salt, or if you are just curious- I would recommend that you buy this book and use it!
