Product Review: KitchenAid Professional Fruit Slicer

Recently, I have begun the journey of trying to incorporate more fruits into my daily diet. The problem I faced most often was slicing or peeling them, because of the painful arthritis in my hands. I began my search in one of my favorite places in the world..... the kitchen wares store. I could honestly spend all day there looking at the gadgets and dreaming of ways to use them in MY kitchen. But alas I was on a mission that day and couldn't buy anything other than my intended gadget to help relieve my problem. I found what I was looking for in the KitchenAid Professional Fruit Slicer.

It allows me to place my fruit on a cutting board or if I don't want to dirty up more than one dish ( which is usually the case) on the plate and just place the slicer on top of the fruit and simply press down. It cores the apple and gives me 8 perfect slices of apple or pear without the cramped hands. It has rubber grips so I can hold it safely and doesn't require a ton of pressure since the the stainless steel blades are sharp. The best part is that it is dishwasher safe.

My husband then takes the core and the skins because I eat around them and places them in his homemade compost heap in the backyard. So there is no waste. I get my healthy snack, my husband gets fertilizer and I come away pain free.

I purchased mine at a kitchen wares store but you can find and purchase the same one at:
