Book Review: The Intern Blues

Since we are all living with a chronic illness, doctors are a necessary part of our lives. Some of the doctors are nice, some are snotty and some are just plain awful I'll admit, but have you ever wondered exactly why they are the way they are?... or how they even got to the place where they have your health in their hands? If you have, you should read The Intern Blues. It will give you sympathy and appreciation for what your doctors had to go through to get where they are today.

Recipe: Shredded Barbque Chicken

This is something my parents taught me to make. They own a restaurant in NC and if their customers knew that this tasty sandwich was so easy to make they would be surprised.

Product Review: Waring JEX328 Juice Extractor

Last year I decided to start juicing and went looking for a juicer. I discovered that many low cost juicers out there were entirely plastic and I was not sure of their durability. After doing a bit of checking around, I found the Waring JEX328 on sale. It was not 100% plastic like most other juicers. It boasted a brushed stainless steel body that wiped clean with a sponge and wouldn’t turn color with age. It also was advertised as juicing both fruits and vegetables. All qualities that I found appealing in a juicer.

Product Review: Clog Dawgs Disability Friendly Shoes!

Finding clothing or accessories that make getting ready to go out easier is always a joy. I began seeing these particular shoes called dawgs, which are made entirely of rubber, and although they cost a little more than flip flops, they are ten times more comfortable. I love my flip flops and have at least fifty pairs of them, but I personally find that especially the flat flip flops cause me knee and back pain. I often find my legs aching terribly after wearing them to the supermarket or the mall. Running shoes are often a pain to put on, with the laces and such, so I was in search of a comfortable, easy to put on summer shoe.

Movie Review: "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"

Due to finances and disability, I don't get to go to the movie theatre nearly as often as I'd like. Recently, however, I was fortunate enough to view "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"! This is the sequel to "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl". Yo ho ho and more Bloom and Depp, please!

Recipe:Beef and Cabbage Soup

When I am not feeling well and a lot of the time when I feel good, I LOVE soup and one of my all time favorites is my rendition of Shoneys Restaurant's Beef and Cabbage Soup. It is hearty and filling, and you can add a salad and
some french bread for a complete meal.

Product Review: KitchenAid Professional Fruit Slicer

Recently, I have begun the journey of trying to incorporate more fruits into my daily diet. The problem I faced most often was slicing or peeling them, because of the painful arthritis in my hands. I began my search in one of my favorite places in the world..... the kitchen wares store. I could honestly spend all day there looking at the gadgets and dreaming of ways to use them in MY kitchen. But alas I was on a mission that day and couldn't buy anything other than my intended gadget to help relieve my problem. I found what I was looking for in the KitchenAid Professional Fruit Slicer.

Product Review:Roses and Teacups

I adore frilly, delicate, fancy things- items I would never dream of buying for myself. My daughter told me about this website called Roses and Teacups and since they are two of my favorite things, she knew I would love it. The site is a home-based business run by a wonderful lady who, as she states, was brought up to appreciate the art of gift giving and remembering special occasions with special cards and gifts.
