Product Review: X nite lite

I hate the dark. I know I should get over this seemingly childish fear, but it lingers. I have always hated the dark, but as I got older and had to deal with the "unsteadiness" that accompanies the myriad of illnesses I face, my
fear of the dark began to be grounded in reason. I am not ashamed.

Product Review: Amy Peter's Studio Jewelry

The ad for Amy Peter's Jewelry says inscribed with "hopes, dreams, and absolute truths". I knew from the moment I read that quote that I would love her jewelry. Her sterling silver designs are as unique as the sayings on
them.

Have you thought about it?
I have! In fact, I find that when I eat organic and hormone-free foods, I actually feel better.

Do you Have a Power WORD?

For the past seven years, I have begun my days at 5:15 in the morning. I get up that early in the morning, because each day I have an important “date” to go on- my “sacred date.” My sacred date consists of me, prayer, meditation and a strong cup of coffee.

I am a former nurse. In my "past life" I worked in clinics, hospitals, nursing homes and even at an insurance company. Nowdays I am sitting home, not much to do except, on days when I have my wits, write. Here is my opinion of Medicare Part D.

Easy Recipes: Coronado Casserole

This was my grandmother's recipe. It's a tasy treat that even kids adore - especially if they're olive nuts like mine. And soooo easy to prepare. Enjoy!

Poetry: Pain

This poem is much darker poem than my usual style. It was written as a sort of poetic exorcism of the feelings of frustration, helplessness and sometimes utter hopelessness that have accompanied the battle I've been fighting with chronic back pain for the past several years.

Product Review: Great Scrapbooking Magazines to Check Out!

I found a few scrapbooking/ crafting magazines that are definitely worth signing up for, if you are interested in these types of hobbies. It was so exciting to get these in the mail and look for new projects, ideas and lessons. I find scrapbooking and paper crafts a great hobby for those with limited energy, due to illness. They are great projects to start and then come back to later, and also many of the project supplies can be inexpensive and make great gifts!

Book Review: You Don't Look Sick - Living Well With Invisible Chronic Illness

When I first saw the title of this book, I was obviously intrigued, since the name of my website is Butyoudontlooksick.com. I knew the author and I would have some things in common. This book is a simple journal type chronicle of the life of a woman dealing with a chronic illness.
