Conquering "Motivation Paralysis Disorder"

If you check the diagnosis codes, you will not find one listed for "Motivation Paralysis Disorder!" But I would be willing to bet that many of you with an invisible disease know exactly what I am talking about! It's that awful phase we can slip into where time seems to pass in dog-years.

A New Beginning for ButYouDontLookSick.com Online Magazine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY—November, 23, 2005—Living with a chronic illness can be debilitating, but what if your chronic illness is ‘invisible?’ Spotting a person with Lupus or Chronic Fatigue can be next to impossible, let alone know what challenges a person who suffers from these disease face on a daily bases. Most patients of chronic-invisible illnesses often hear family and friends say “but you don’t look sick.” The site recently redesigned, offers the same support and message groups but with a new ‘real-time’ approach.

The Blessings of Chronic Illness

At the time of this writing, it is a few weeks before Thanksgiving in the US. Each day, I must fight an overwhelming array of symptoms caused by Sjogren's syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, hypothyroidism, diabetes, celiac disease, gastroparesis and periodic limb movement disorder. I am learning to cope with new medication that is fraught with unpleasant side effects. I am in the midst of the disability application process and have no income. And yet, I know that I am blessed, without question. How can this be?

Book Review: Lucky Man: A Memoir

By: Michael J. Fox
"If you were to rush into this room right now and announce that you had struck a deal– with God, Allah, Buddha, Christ, Krishna, Bill Gates, whomever–in which the ten years since my diagnosis could be magically taken away, traded in for ten more years as the person I was before, I would, without a moment's hesitation, tell you to take a hike."

Product Review: Sunchasers UV Shirts Helped Me Stop Hiding From The Sun

Book Review: A Will to Win- a remarkable story of courage and determination

By: Alice Peterson
I have chosen to write about this book because as a  young woman with Rheumatoid Arthritis it was a lifeline to know that other younger  people had the disease too. The beauty of the book for me is that it is about the person with the R.A, rather than a book about possible effects of the disease.

Product Review: Bracelets that alert the medics without alerting the fashion police!

I never thought I would use the word "beautiful" to describe a medical ID bracelet, but as soon as these arrived, I knew they were special! I didn't feel like I had to put these on; I wanted to!

These bracelets are very nice -- you would never know they were for medical purposes. I think back to times when I went to the hospital or was in car accidents, and I wished I was wearing an ID bracelet. It is so dangerous to go out without one, but medical bracelets were always known to be so ugly! I wish I had found this site years ago.
