Book Review: Dawg Tired, the Brain Fog Chronicles

As anyone with any chronic illness knows, getting professionals, friends or family to believe you, can be incredibly hard. We struggle daily against the "But you don't look sick?" label we are given. Dawg Tired, the Brain Fog Chronicles documents such a journey. We follow Gayla as she goes from being a healthy woman, exercising 2 hours every morning, to not being able to get out of bed from one day to the next. We join her as she goes to work, as an insurance company nurse, a job which she thoroughly enjoyed, to doctors' appointments, in order to get that all important diagnosis. As her ability to work slowly disappears, she is forced to conceed defeat and leave work, so we follow her struggle to get accepted for Disability and her eventual move back home. This book had me nodding my head in agreement at a lot of the truths that were written, as well as laughing at Gayla's wonderful sense of humour. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs to know they aren't the only one, or would just like their spirits lifted by such a great book of accomplishment.
