We are now accepting writing submissions for the areas listed below.
Hopefully one of the areas will be of spark an interest for you.

1. Book Reviews
2. Product Reviews
3. Tips/ "How to's" with any hobbies or skills you may have that others may enjoy reading about- especially if you can give tips on how to accomplish these things more easily with a disability. Ex. Basic web design, work from home, knitting, gardening, cooking, going to school, etc.
4. Recipes (easy ones possibly geared toward those with a disability or energy issues.)

In addition to the topics listed above, we are open to any and all suggestions on how we may work together in the future.

Because our book reviews and product reviews are our most highly visited sections on our site- we will give preference/ priority to those writers who submit in those areas as well as articles/ stories. We would love to form a
relationship with our writers and form a "staff" of regular writers, who we would be able to give preference to. To be considered "staff" you need to be able to commit to write at least one article a month, but if you are not able to do that please feel free to submit something whenever inspiration hits. Any works by authors who write for us on a regular basis will be promoted in our newsletter.

Article Lengths
Unless you are contributing short items (events & announcements or annotated recommendations as described above), the preferred article length is between 600-1250 words. However, this is meant as a guideline, we do not count words, finding that most writers have a feel for when they have covered a topic adequately.

Deadlines
Submissions are due on the 1st and 15th of the month.

Policy on First Submissions & Reprints
As is true for other periodicals on or off the web, ButYouDontLookSick.com prefers to publish original articles or first time submissions. However, on occasion, in order to advance its goal of patient awareness, we will reprint
significant articles that have appeared in print format elsewhere, but have had limited circulation.

Policy on Format for Submission of Material
ButYouDontLookSick.com exists only in an electronic format and therefore we can only accept electronic submissions of material. Submissions should be sent as an attached Microsoft Word document. If you do not have Word, save your article as a ".txt" format file (for example, MyArticle.txt). Please follow the format that is currently being used on our site for your articles.

Please submit a short 4-6 sentence bio about yourself with your first submission.

Terms/Rights purchased:
Currently we do not pay freelancers- if we accept your submission, we will publish and promote your article online at http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com At this time we are not able to pay for articles. Please note all submissions will take approximately 2 weeks for review, in order to determine if they will be used on the site. All submissions are subject to basic editing and become the property of butyoudontlooksick.com. If chosen for publication you will be contacted by our staff with a link to the published article.

We will not accept articles that are not "family friendly". No foul language, sexual themes, etc.
